The Groenfontein Toy Project is a skills development and employment initiative in the economically poor and rural Little Karoo region of South Africa. The project is entirely self-funded and as such serves as an inspiring social enterprise that can be replicated elsewhere. The women of the project produce a range of beautiful plush toys and other crafted products for a growing international market. The products are 100% handmade, using little more than needle and thread, demonstrating how modest means and methods can affect significant changes in people's lives.
"Changing lives one darn stitch at a time."
