The Greenpop team does this through tree planting projects, green action events, educational workshops, and by activating people. Since its establishment in 2010, and its expansion to Zambia in 2012, Greenpop has planted over 27,000 trees in over 250 beneficiary schools, crèches, and community centres, as well as in deforested areas around South Africa and Zambia.

Two months after the Reforest Fest in Hogsback I sit and wonder about how our little trees are doing. I dream about the day I can return to a special forest on Terra Khaya. I am so grateful for Eco Atlas to have made me aware of the Green Pop movement! The fun that was had to plant a mass of trees with stunning people from across the country has left me following when similar events are scheduled to happen. I certainly don't want to miss out.

My friend and I had an awe-inspiring weekend at Hogsback in the Eastern Cape. It was truly beautiful to be in the presence of so many like-minded, green-loving people at the Reforest Festival. I arrived back home, in Durban, feeling revived and inspired.
I look forward to being involved in another one of GreenPop's tree-planting events in the future.
