Fynbos Ridge is a five star Country House and Cottages set in a private nature reserve, offering spectacular mountain views and abundant bird life. Relax and unwind by the secluded pool, or enjoy the many activities in the vicinity – forest or coastal hiking trails, glorious beaches, top golf courses, whale watching safaris. Choose between a luxurious suite in the gracious Cape-Colonial styled Manor House or a spacious, secluded self-catering cottage, newly refurbished with stone bath tubs. Delicious dining and alfresco breakfast are available, or pick your own salad from the organic vegetable garden.
How each Eco Choice has been implemented:Owners Liz and Brian Phillips are committed to doing their bit for the environment. Over a period of years the Fynbos has been restored to its natural state by undertaking a burning schedule and continuous removal of all invasive alien vegetation. In 2001 Fynbos Ridge was proclaimed a Private Nature Reserve by the Western Cape Nature Conservation Board. Many birds, butterflies and small mammals have now made Fynbos Ridge their home.
Steps we have taken to protect the environment and conserve natural resources include:
Landscaping with indigenous vegetation.
Installed solar heating.
Commissioned our own biological sewage treatment plant.
Use biodegradable cleaning products.
Recycle refuse.
Conserve rainwater.Eco Star:We are an Eco Star
