Masonwabe Retreat

Masonwabe Retreat…A conscious couple developing a beautiful 20ha farm to create an abundant off grid life in one of the most beautiful parts of South Africa. The farm is 50% fynbos, 50% indigenous forest. We enjoy nature and like to keep things as natural as possible. We would like to share this beautiful place with like minded individuals.

We are permaculture designers and have already established a permaculture garden that we are expanding every month to grow beautiful organic food for ourselves and our guests. We use eco-friendly cleaning products, eco-friendly hand soap and dish washing liquid in the cottages and shared kitchen. We compost all our organic waste, we either give this to our earth worms or our chickens. We rely on rain water only and all our grey water goes out onto our banana cluster. We are aiming to add in more cottages in the forest and put up some glamping sites and will work towards getting them all completely off the grid. We are currently constructing a cottage which will be our first off grid structure with solar panels etc. We hope to have it live by October 2018.
