The Vineyard Hotel

The Vineyard Hotel is a privately owned Hotel, situated in seven acres of attractive landscaped parkland in the lush leafy suburb of Newlands, on the banks of the Liesbeek River, overlooking the eastern slopes of Table Mountain. The Hotel has 207 guest rooms, a spa and a health & fitness centre. In addition to this, the Hotel also has four restaurants (the Square, Garden Lounge, Splash Café and Myoga), an indoor and outdoor swimming pool and a conference centre with nine Conferencing rooms.

Responsible tourism is taken very seriously by the Vineyard Hotel. Education of all the staff, the introduction of energy and water saving devices, and a waste separation and recycling program are some of the many ways that the Vineyard Hotel is making its contribution towards a cleaner, safer and more sustainable planet.

We have implemented environmental and social responsible decision making to ensure that sustainable development principles are incorporated into all levels of event management. A Living Green and Green Procurement policy is in place to guide those who purchase goods and services to do this in a responsible manner. Our ‘living green’ logo reflects our total commitment to the greening initiative.   We are committed to taking action to reduce the environmental impact of our hotel.

The Vineyard Hotel  won the ‘Best single resource management programme – waste management’ at the 2012 Imvelo Awards.  We received an impressive Runner Up achievement for the Adopt a Plot project entry on Mail & Guardian-Greening the future awards on the community conservation category. We are also finalists in the Eco-Logic Awards 2013 Eco-Community Category.

The Hotel serves Fair Trade teas and coffee.
