Zwakala River Retreat

Zwakala River Retreat is situated on a farm in the beautiful Magoebaskloof Mountains in the Limpopo Province. Accomodation includes cosy cottages and cabins and a private camp site located next to a tranquil river in the breathtaking mountains.

The cottages and the campsite are right on the banks of the Broederstroom River – the source of the Great Letaba River. The river is perfect for tubing and swimming and it is renowned for its clear waters and restorative qualities. Jump into the mountain waters and revive your soul! Legend also has it that once you have drunk the waters of the Letaba River you will always return.

Mina’s Art Cafe & Farm Venue is the newly renovated venue, ideal for weddings, family or corporate gatherings, music performances or exhibitions and hosting a quarterly Neighbourhood Food Market.

The two cottages and campsite are off the grid. Zwakala intentionally do not do any monoculture agriculture on the farm, but rather they attempt to  re-establish the indigenous grasslands that once dominated the area.

We also host a neighbourhood market, whcih is a sensational mix of great food craft beer, cool people, hot live music and fresh farm country air !
