For more than 15 years Mungohas been weaving natural fibre homeware that is made to last. We produce a wide range of quality linens, throws, blankets, bedding and towels. All our products are woven using repurposed and antique looms at the Mungo Mill in Plettenberg Bay, South Africa. Bridging the generations, Mungo is a family run business with the rare ability to create quality textiles all the way from design to the final product. The use of restored looms reflect the philosophy of using the timeless art of weaving to create high quality, innovative and contemporary products. Our products can bought online, or at our shops in Plettenberg Bay and Cape Town.
Sustainability, accountability and transparency underpin all our processes. We only source natural fibres, which are organic where possible. We engage in fair trade principles and do not mass-produce. Mungo has a low carbon footprint because all our products are locally made and sent directly from mill to retail. This reduced supply chain means more South African livelihoods are supported and contributes to uplifting our economy.
