The Solar Buddy™ provides simple, inexpensive solar-powered lighting. It is perfect for rural households, farms and game lodges, schools and colleges, hospitals, health clinics and community centres. It is also ideal for recreational use such as caravanning, camping, hiking and yachting.

In fact, Solar Buddy™ is designed for virtually any environment where the local electricity supply is inconsistent, unreliable or unavailable.

The Envirolight (solar street light / courtyard light) is an all-in-one unit, powered with a high efficiency solar panel, super bright LEDs, and a Lithium battery.

It adopts advanced technology such as a micro-controller and a human infrared sensor. Envirolight contributes low power consumption with high brightness (5W LED equals 100W incandescent light), a long lifespan and is maintenance free, waterproof and has great thermal dissipation.

ITS Heat Pumps use the natural energy in the ambient air and therefore seriously reduce the green house gas emissions associated with the use of electricity. Solar water heaters and ITS heat pumps can be used in conjunction with one another creating a hybrid system.

Education, health and safety and economic opportunity are seriously impacted by lack of reliable, clean, affordable electricity. Solar lanterns can completely eliminate the need for paraffin lanterns and candles in households. The cost savings for customers can be significant, as families may spend 10 to 25 percent of their monthly income on paraffin. 50% of South African families rely on paraffin and candles for lighting.

We believe that we can be part of the solution. Right from the start of Naturally Solar with the development of the Solar Buddy lantern we wanted to bring light into homes across South Africa and especially to the children. This has resulted in the Solar Buddy Foundation, a registered NPO where our aim is to partner with businesses, organisations, private individuals in getting as many children as possible a Solar Buddy.
