ASAP partners with the women of rural communities, building their capacity to provide quality broad based, sustainable care of the orphans and vulnerable children for whom they care voluntarily. ASAP believes that every child should have the opportunity to become a well-adapted, educated, healthy, contributing member of South African society and has worked tenaciously for the last 13 years, partnering with local government and other NPOs where needed, to strengthen networks of services and support. We have impacted more than 18 000 children since inception.
We use only eco-friendly, organic and biodegradable products in both the head office and field office. We teach organic food gardening based on permaculture principles to communities who are food insecure. We believe in African food sovereignty and the essential role women have as keepers of heirloom seeds, and seek to strengthen both in deeply rural communities.
